Grow Up

Last week a guy I went to school with died, which it was sad but especially because he had a son, but it wasn't a complete surprise either. I can speak from personal experience on this one, when you are close to someone that does drugs on a regular basis you have to realize that if they don't get clean and turn their life around the drugs will probably take their life.

My Uncle, who I love dearly, has been on drugs since I was little. Honestly if he doesn't get clean I expect to hear one day that he has passed. They have ruined his life with his family and friends, now we don't even know where he is. I pray for him daily.....that's all I can do.

This might sound harsh but its the truth......People on drugs are selfish people, they only care about themselves.

It makes me mad that a 26 year old man would rather party than stay at home and play with his son.

I have 3 boys and I would never do anything to keep me from seeing them the next day.

I agree 100% The sad part is how many people just one persons addiction ultimately affects. I hate to think about everything that child will miss out on. I pray God brings someone into his life that will fill that roll before he realizes what he's missing.

I have seen many people with addictions and if you ask any of them that have come clean, they will say they were selfish. The truth is that if someone doesn't get clean they will end up dead or in prison.
Dealing with an addict is very difficult. Just ask the husband that has to lock his wife out of the house because she has used all the money in the home and the children are hungry. Ask the father that has to put his son on the street because he won't quit smoking pot. But the tough love is almost always the way to go. Because as long as someone is helping them they are killing them. In a home with drug use there are no winners. That is a fact.

I have waited to leave a comment b/c I didn't want to leave it in response to someone else. However that doesn't seem to be possible. We do live in the United States of America and with that comes a freedom of speech. That freedom is not limited to the television or news paper. A person can “blog” about anything, anyone, or any topic just as you are free to post your response.
With all that said…..I agree that it is a sad situation. I was raised by a father with an addiction. First he was a drunk then it was pills. His addiction is what ultimately took his life and left his two kids without a father. Was he around when we were growing up…..YES he was physically there but that doesn’t mean that HE was there. He was always high or drunk and finding new ways to embarrass us. I loved my dad very much but there are still things that he is going to miss out on because getting high was more important to him.
I do think it is a sad day to see a child left behind because of his/her parents couldn’t keep it together. If you love your kids and what to be around to see them grow up……GET SOME HELP! I understand that it is a disease…..that is what treatment is for.
And further more I don’t remember reading anything in this post about Christianity…….do you? (Other religions do pray you know) Christians have opinions just like everyone else….everyone else gets to spit their own views of the world out why can’t people that believe in God have that same opportunity. I did not see any names mentioned or people called out. What I did see is a mother that loves her kids and wants to be there, feeling bad for a child that has to grow up without ever knowing his/her father.
So if you’re going to take a post personally that was not addressed to you…..I suggest you stop reading blogs because you are going to stay pissed off.
